US Plans To Take Part In GUUAM Summit On 3-4 July In Yalta

The summit of the heads of states of participating countries in the GUUAM Organization, which groups Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova, will take place in Yalta on July, 3-4. Documents are being prepared for signing at the summit on cooperation in the bordering and custom spheres, as well as in the area of the sciences and education, and also on issues relating to prevention and liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations. Ukraine invited to the GUUAM summit in the capacity of guests the representatives of international organizations and the foreign ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Hungary and Bulgaria. The USA is also going to take part in the summit. Oleksandr Motsyk, the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, disclosed this to journalists. The US delegation will be headed by Steven Pifer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine B.Cankorel will present his country on the abovementioned meeting.
 


GUUAM To Create Center On Fighting Against Terrorism And Organized Crime

The heads of states of the GUUAM participating countries, which includes its members: Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova, are going to sign at the Yalta summit an Agreement on creation of a Virtual Center of GUUAM on fighting against terrorism, organized crime and the spread of narcotics. Oleksandr Motsyk, the deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, disclosed this to journalists. O.Motsyk informed that at the summit it is planned to sign several documents. In particular, the Memorandum on mutual understanding of GUUAM participating states on promoting trade and transport, the Agreement between the governments of GUUAM participating states on cooperation in the area of prevention of emergency situations and liquidation of their consequences, the Agreement on mutual assistance and cooperation in custom affairs and the Protocol on cooperation of organs for safeguarding the state borders of GUUAM participating states. At the summit, it is also planned to sign 2 documents in the humanitarian sphere: the Agreement on cooperation in the area of education between the Education Ministries of GUUAM participating states and the Protocol on cooperation between Academies of Sciences of GUUAM participating states in the area of science and technology. During the summit, there will take place a meeting of the GUUAM Business council and the Council of authorized representatives of the Presidents on issues relating to the development of the oil transport corridors.
