Ukraine And Turkey To Draft Plan For Cooperation In Black Sea Region
Ukraine and Turkey intend to draft a plan for bilateral cooperation in the Black Sea region. Markian Lubkivskyi, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry's press service, announced this to journalists, citing the outcome of the talks between Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and Turkey's Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Gul. "[They] agreed to conclude work in the near future on a joint plan for cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey in the Black Sea," Lubkivskyi said. According to him, the drafting of the plan was initiated by Ukraine and it received the support of Turkey. In July, Ukraine and Turkey agreed to jointly strengthen stability and security in the Black Sea region as well as to jointly fight terrorism.
Yanukovych To Visit Turkey From December 1 To 2
Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych plans to visit Turkey from December 1 to 2 for meetings with Turkish leaders. Markian Lubkivskyi, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry's press service, announced this to journalists. He cited talks between Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and Turkey's Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Gul. According to Lubkivskyi, Hryschenko and Gul also discussed preparation for Yanukovych's visit to Turkey.
Ukraine And Turkey To Cooperate In Rebuilding Of Iraq
Ukraine and Turkey intend to cooperate during their participation in
the rebuilding of Iraq's infrastructure. Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister
Kostiantyn Hryschenko and Turkey's Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Gul
announced this to journalists after talks. According to Hryschenko, the
two sides discussed a broad range of issues involving the financing of
possible reconstruction projects in Iraq as well as maintaining security
in the country. "It was stated by the two sides that we can complement
each other ... in concrete scales as well as in small projects," Hryschenko
said. According to him, the most probable area of cooperation between the
two countries is the projects that could be implemented in the Ukrainian
peacekeepers' sector in Iraq. "We could assume responsibility for the issue
of security, i.e. our contingent. And our builders and other structures
could work with Turkey there where they could complement each other," Hryschenko
said. The two sides also reached the conclusion that they could cooperate
in the area of rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure. The proposal to cooperate
in the rebuilding of Iraq was made by Turkey during the talks. Ukraine
sent 1,656 peacekeepers to Iraq. The troops are based in the province of
Wasit, 120-140 kilometers southeast of Baghdad, in Poland's zone of command.
Turkey To Develop Military-Technical Cooperation With Ukraine
Turkey intends to develop military-technical cooperation with Ukraine
regardless of the positions that other countries may take. Turkish Defense
Ministry's state secretary Atilla Isik statad this during talks with Ukraine's
Foreign Affairs Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko. "Isik stressed that Turkey
intends to actively develop military-technical cooperation with Ukraine
in spite of the positions that third countries may take".
